Kim, Buy me that vise and I'll tie them for you!!! Of course I still wouldn't be able to tie any better than I do on my Renzetti, but hey, I took a shot! 🙄

Second annual Fun with Foam swap. MAILED TO SWAPPERS
Noahguide replied to DarrellP's topic in Fly Swaps & Contests
Just a PSA here. I mentioned on another thread a while back that I was waiting on a package Due 1/14/21 that never arrived. For the longest they kept telling me it was stuck in Columbia SC, Later they claimed it never left the originating PO in VA. When my sister went to file a missing package report they told her it was past the date to file. If you have your tracking number file officially at the PO. -
No such thing as too many Caddis Flies

One Dozen Kelly Gallop Butch Caddis prepped for sending out. Now in the hands of the USPS. Check PM with tracking. -
Spent part of the weekend doing FishingBobNelson inspired tying. McPhail super stretch Caddis, Caddis Pupa, and Kelly Gallop's Goober and Butch Caddis all in 14.
-
Thanks, These are on my list to try.

So it is! Stupidly I don't know that I have ever seen it beyond the close ups the jaws while Davie is tying on it.
-
And is that the same vise without the nuclear finish in the latest McPhail video?

Was checking the due date to make sure I would be back to my tying equipment in time. I'm in. (and no mini zip-locks!) -
Stu, Thanks. I'll give this a try. All Rabbit and DDH or just DDH? I have your SBS from one of your other sites. Thanks again
-
How does this (or does it) vary from your DDH Leech pattern?

I just click the X at the sign up prompt and the article shows up. Check your PM

From The WSJ- "The outbreak started in China, where it quickly engulfed the city of Wuhan before racing across the globe on commercial flights and ships, eventually killing more than 1 million people, over 100,000 of them in the U.S. The novel virus triggered a state of emergency in New York City; caused so many deaths in Berlin that corpses were stored in subway tunnels; overwhelmed London’s hospitals; and in some areas of France left half of the workforce bedridden. Severely ill patients suffering from acute pneumonia were put on ventilators,..." In reference to the 1968-1970 Hong Kong Flu. Given the age of most of us on this forum, we went through it but I don't know it "impacted us" beyond what ever impact at the time. I used this to try to give my kids (and theirs) perspective. Another good day on the Chauga last Monday (10th). Had a great run of ten or so fish in the first hour and then decided I really needed to take a picture of the particular variation of the Hares ear fly that was working. Caught a tree right after I took the picture (got my fly back), but glad I thought to capture it. Later fish taken on an Ace of Spades variant (McPhail Video). Delayed Harvest ended on the 15th. Hope to get back up this weekend to see what's left after the annual "opening day" run on the river with folks using live bait and treble Hooks.

You will do well as an officer! It was the map. I've heard that one before.

More from my attempts at SBPratt flies. I modified one of the muddlers with weight. I had planned to take it out on Mother's day but couldn't find it in my box, only to realize I had left in in my vise. I think this will work well to target some aggressive brookies that can't get a hold of my larger squirrel tail buggers. And a stab at the Penny Muddler from January. Both Sz 10.

Great day on the water on Mother's Day. Chauga Slam with Bows, Brooks and Browns. Nothing big but a full day of good fishing. The best part? The only other "fisher" on I saw in four hours was the heron, that stayed one run below me.

Softhackle Spundun Potter’s Opal X-Caddis SBS
Noahguide replied to SBPatt's topic in Step by Step Patterns & Tutorials
Great SBS, thanks. Need to get some CH. -
Spent the morning trying to recreate some of SBPatt 's lovely rough water flies. I've got the rough part figured out. Still trying to figure out the right amounts of hair, but I have some specific water in mind for these. Hopefully they will work.

Thanks! Always appreciate a thumbs up from Squash!
