  1. Oh, and the Atlas comes with a pedstal AND a cclamp. For the same price. Not bad.
  2. I tie as a full time job, there are very few patterns I tie that I actually utilize a full rotary function. Wooly Buggers are one. Most of the time, it is not needed. As long as the vise rotates and you can see all sides, that is more than enough. I do have the Renzetti 2304, black larger base. It's a nice vise, comfortable to tie on but it has one annoying feature, that is the set screw needs CONSTANT re-tensioning. If I didn't think it would void a warranty I would replace it with a self locking screw, or use some Loctite. As for the difference, I would guess just fit and finish specifically the 2000 being raw aluminum and the 2200 being annondized. For the same price, you get a slightly better hook range with the Wolff Industries Atlas Rotary Vise (32-7/0) compared to 24-4/0 for Renzetti. That said, Renzetti has a lifetime warranty (not restricted to the original owner), and the Atlas has a "lifetime warranty" but with a lot of limitations. Can't go wrong either way.
  3. I've heard that you can send them back to get replaced. I don't know if it's true.
  4. Every Rite Bobbin I have owned, has failed. I've owned the standard, the cermag, and the half-hitch mag. The tube breaks and the thread carriage spins. It's a comfortable bobbin, but I can't spend that much for a product that doesn't hold up.
  5. My favorite loop tool is the Kelly Galloup Rising Tool- it's just a shepherds hook tool but it's very useful. I use it for many different applications. For spinners, I'm mostly disappointed or underwhelmed with the 4-5 I have on my bench tbh.
  6. Not sure there is a better fish catching indicator than the Han's Klinkhamer Special. You can tie it quite large (which- slight rant- is the point. I see too many instagram tyers tying size 16 parachutes and calling them klinks, they are NOT). Roman Moser's balloon caddis is another good one. So is Devin Olsen's Front End Loader.
  7. A simple soft hackle with Hedron Glow In the Dark Flashabou on the tag. Hare'Tron & Grouse.
  8. I learned from the tyer who made the first poppers on FB that he didn't do this via hydro dipping paint. He did so by water marbling with nail polish.
  9. As a fly tyer who is very new to this sport, I quite enjoy finding older patterns that are sadly being forgotten as time goes by or to more tyers, are simply undiscovered yet. This is a pattern designed by Scott Sanchez called the Glasshouse Caddis and is a pretty interesting cased caddis imitation. The case is made using peacock black ice dub ribbed with copper wire, a glass bead, and hen soft hackle. I used black partridge as it was on hand. A pretty simple tie, just use a 1x long hook to better accomodate the two beads. You can watch a tutorial on @jackflyfish Youtube page.
  10. Podobed's Spite Stone. @primeflycompany
  11. Thinking about my Michigan buddy Matt Supinski with this Gray Drake Shucked Up Emerger. Biot body.
  12. Shucked Up Sulphur Emerger with the EP Trigger Point Dubbing on the head.
  13. I just watched a video on it on Youtube. I don't think you would necessarily waste much paint, you would just have to do batches say 1-2 dozen per coloration. I might just try it lol.
  14. I just airbrush mine. Those flies look cool though. Maybe as a gift. I don't see the patterns especially useful outside of the artistic realm.
  15. This time I used the EP Trigger Point Dubbing in a dubbing loop for a faux soft hackle on a pretty plain Frenchie.
  16. Thank you. The legs in the RF Caddis are Hareline Daddy Long Legs (very thin rubber legs). The color is brown, but they are more of a rust brown in reality.
  17. Breaking away from the hatch matcher style, this time using EP Trigger Point Dubbing on a Frenchie.
  18. More EP Trigger Point Dubbing this time in Rich's Slate Drake Shucked Up Emerger pattern.
  19. Using EP Trigger Point fibers as a substitution in a Rich Strolis RF Caddis pattern.
