I am in cap, the air force auxilary, and we fly lots of small aircraft. I have flown a cessna 172,182, 206, and a GA-8.

Im in delta junction (interior, 100 miles south of fairbanks), alaska, and it's been cooooooollld here, too. A few days ago it got to -40 farneheight, with about 20 mph winds. Yesterday it was -20 with around 30 mph winds, and it's 5 degrees right now and super windy. I think it's around 35-40 MPH. Yeah we have a big problem with wind. It's also been snow a lot so we've got a lot of drifting which is really annoying to plow, and all the snow is preventing moose from getting to thier feeding grounds, which is making the moose more aggressive, so we got to watch out for that. And they are congrigating at plowed out roads and driveways so in about 1/4 a mile of walking i saw two moose.

Fishing was super tough in missouri for all the species. Bass, catfish, and panfish alike. I had fished for an accumulated time of around 10-12 hours and probably made over 500 casts and 4 of them had bites, and one of them was a fish. This was the hard-earned fish.
Nice little chunky 2 or 3 pounder.
I talked to a lot of people out on the water and they told me I was lucky to catch this fish from the shore. Most fish were caught in boats in deeper water.

Yeah that's not generally morgan wallen's type of music. This is some of my favorite music from him:

If you read the post I made to the lodge titled "I'm Back" you may have seen I am going to Lee's Summit, Kansas City, Missouri. Missouri has tons of lakes and ponds and i have around 10 in my general area. A couple of those bodies of water have crappie. I am not bringing any fly rods; I am only my spinning and baitcasting rod but will most likely use jigs if I end up going for crappie (Largemouth Bass and Catfish are my main targets). I have tied basic jigs like classic Marabou jigs, bucktail jigs, and I made a few crawfish imitations. I was wondering if you guys had any other jig patterns that you would like to share. If i have the matirials I will be sure to tie it and try it out on the water.

HiXTAPE - "Goin’ Nowhere" (feat. HARDY, Morgan Wallen, Chris Shiflett)" - YouTube
Idk if i like it or not, but it's that bad. What do you guys think of it? It's one of the newer songs Morgan Wallen has done.

Hey everyone. I just realized how long it's been since I posted on the forum, so with winter break around the corner I'll probably be posting more. I just got some finals to deal with and on the 19th i'll be going to missouri to visit my sister, brother in law, and my niece. I'm also taking some fishing gear with be since theres like 12 lakes and ponds nearby. I'm probably just going to bring a baitcaster and a spinning reel tho. But i'll be tying lots of jigs though. If you have any good jigs to recommend then that would be awesome. I am always up for expanding my arsenal of tackle.

The stud came up, hit my dry fly (Size 12 mosquito) , and went back down to the bottom of the river and at that point I could barely move him with my 5/6 weight rod.
He was a stud, coming in at 21 inches, which is a new PB for me. Btw according to the state anything over 17 inches is a trophy grayling.

Here another short vid done in that lake
Big pike (for that pond) was peeling drag! #shorts - YouTube

I had some fun up near Fairbanks fishing for some aggressive pike. I should have pulled out my frog. And by the way, the reason why I called one of those pike a big one was because it was bigger than most pike in that lake.
Please Like this video subscribe to the channel and get notified, also comment in the youtube comment section if you would rather see more flounder and black cod fishing off a dock or would you rather watch trout fishing. I am going down to valdez again and there's both down there.

What a beautiful fish.
I didn't listen to it but I see you're using a stubby leader right?
Yep i forgot to bring extra leader which was annoying

beautiful day on the clearwater chasing grayling - YouTube
Today I got into some grayling that were hitting dries a few days ago all while having a recording gopro on my head. Then I took the footage, put it in my editor, and whipped up a good video for you all to watch. I really enjoyed filming this video. The river is very beautiful and peaceful (When there's not tons of boats everywhere). I really enjoyed the fishing and I hope you enjoyed watching the video as much as I enjoyed making it. If you didn't happen to enjoy it please like the video, subscribe to the channel, comment in the YouTube comment section because it will really help the channel grow. The more likes/comments/subscribers is the more people that the algorithm will recommend it to.

For a dry - try a Rackelhanen, another quick and easy dry that primarily is tied as a caddis pattern. All you need is poly yarn. If you are lacking let me know - I've got MORE than a lifetime supply!
BTW, the Wilson series of flies are also listed in "Fish Flies" by Terry Hellekson.
Kim
Okay, thanks for the clarification. I will tie that
-
okay I am going to add 2 stonefly nymphs, 2 copper johns, and 2 of old faithful, the san juan worm. I love that pattern.
@WWKimba Is the Wilson's mormon girl a dry fly?
If it is a dry fly then the nymph side will be done! The next side (dry flies) is going to get some work for sure. I have a couple adams-style fly I only have black, gray, and grizzly hackle, and brown, grey, and olive dubbing. I am going to try to make pairs flies that have different colored dubbing and hackle. Then I will tie my favorites for trout, the yeagers neversink cadis (tie one up, they are deadly". Then maybe some elk hair caddices. Then I will be all out of ideas. Actually I might tie a couple of red tags. Do you guys have any favorite dries for trout and grayling you would like to share?
-
Okay I will tie the Zug Bug (How could I forget about that ledgedary fly?) and attempt the prince nymph.

I don't have any beads, but I did tie a simplified version of those, the brassie
-
@mikechell That's what they are called. I have about 10 of those in my box. I used those last graylig season and I love them

I am definetly going to add that to the fly box

How did I forget about that fly? Thank you for reminding me. I will most certainly tie that one.

Hi yes hello I'm back again. I caught a lot of fishing this season and here are a few from the clearwater so far. I don't take many pics out there because i don't want to drop my phone in the water and sorry if the last pic was a bit bad😅😅
Fly rod is probably going away soon because im heading to valdez soon. I'll be catching flounder and stuff there so it'll be more practical to use my baitcaster
