Hello! My name is Andrew Ellis. In an attempt to put my background in linguistics, photography, filmmaking, and interactive design to good use, I began Usually Unusual to document my unhealthy obsession with maps, places, travel, fly fishing, and food.

For the past few decades, I’ve lived a fairly nomadic existence with prolonged stops in Boston, NYC, Cambodia, France, Chile, New Mexico, and the Bay Area. And now, as a newly remote worker, I’m officially calling nowhere in particular as my home and documenting it all right here on Usually Unusual.
