  1. Hello, No I am not a teacher with CMS. I was asked to teach tying for this event. I am known in this area as a tyer who has the skills to teach & I was recommended by a fly shop that Inysed to tie for. The donations will be my teaching tools for kids off campus, not just CMS. Just like groups get together on a Friday night and go to brewing companies for tying events, mine would be at a public place or if asked a private lesson. I am gifting 3 students presently with vises & tools out of my pocket along with fly rods. Mind you these were all girls. We are going to get one together for the boys. Cherokee Central School does have a fly tying class taught by a teacher there but its only offered in the middle school. The vises they have at school are Peak non rotary. (awful in my opinion) The students couldn't keep the vise in place with the base & they weren't able to use a rotary function. I hope I have answered your questions.
  2. Troutramp- It said you can't receive messages. Thank you so much! Finding my passion to teach the younger generation to keep them on track and out of trouble. Most of these kids come from broken homes. I am looking for vises & tying tools. I have lots of materials to you. I am also donating fly fishing equipment to Cherokee Central Schools. They had to borrow waders & boots from Casting Carolinas. I am giving one of the girls my Redington waders because I use the hip waders w/boots attached. I don't venture off too much when I get in the water so I really didn't need them anymore. I surely won't be skipping over rocks so why not give them to someone who is interested in the sport. I appreciate your help on whatever you can help with. This was the event last Saturday. Patricia https://sites.google.com/ccs-nc.org/cmsflyfish/girls-only-clinic/pictures?authuser=0
  3. Hey folks, I just spent this past Saturday teaching 20 young girls fly tying & they were all really interested in learning more. For mist this was their first time tying. This was done at Cherokee Middle School. The problem is I don't have any extra tools or vises to continue to teach them if we were to go to a public place. These girls were in grades 6th-12th grade. We tied 3 patterns, the greenie weenie, chernobyl and the egg pattern. They caught on pretty quick & were very excited to keep going. Does anyone have any tools and/or vises to donate to my passion to teach? I have a lot of materials just no extra tools. Thank you.
