I keep my materials bags and in a big plastic organizer .. if anything gets wet, its pretty much writtin off, funny thats exactly whats gonna happen to it anyways. Its the skin and bone you gotta worry about.. and the ceder is really good for keeping bugs out.. cheaper deer hair seems to become brittle givin enough time.. :cheers:

I gotta a couple flies i just call @#%* or acouple flies i have affectionatly named @#$$#$^%&*(#$% head... the prettiest are shes.. the meanist looking are he's. I tend to use "the" when describing a fly in place of he or she though.. not often enough do i feel that the fly gives the impression of one sex or the other.

Yeah .. your crazy.. haha jk, I would let her mess around with things for awhile and answer any questions she has, this will help you later, when she's ready to learn more advanced techniques. When shes ready to sit down an tye the basics.. show her, but be patient .. remember every tyer will suit what there doin to there own style.. Be supportive, she sounds like she really wants to learn .. teach her and maybe mention to her how much practice it takes for most techniques... I dont wanna sound like a pric sayin that .. but its important .. hope this helps man. Good luck :cheers:

I have used enamel paints.. like the ones for model cars an such .. i picked up a cheapy air brush too, this helps if your tying mass amounts of flies .. or if you do jigs heads aswell.. and when you do the pupil of the eye .. i use a tooth pick to apply .. I find them helpful, if you want a bigger pupil you can just blunt the end a lil. Hope this helps .. :cheers:

It was one of the most nerve racking things I've been through.... Biggest beaver I have ever seen .. and he didnt mind running by me to much .. lol

I was fishing at a local spot, about 15 mins to drive from my place about 45 to walk.. I have been fishing this sport for years. Anyways i got dropped off there and proceed to kick azz, I was doing really well, working all the spots that produce and i noticed my favorite spot on the creek had a newly downed tree laying across it. So i kinna scoutted it out an decided i would fish Just ahead of the tree an cast into a nice lil pool. I had to slide down a hill, about 6 ft high an jump 2 ft to a small island.. whitch only shows when the waters low. I start casting and bang! hook into a nice lil brown trout while im trying to convince this fish that he's comming to the shore, I hear this rustling through the grass just at the hill i had to slide down. Happened to be the only way i was getting out of the spot, and the grass had over grow over the summer. I had no idea what was making this noise, sounded heavy, I notice then a path in the grass that the moving grass was following. Was it a fox, nahh to heavy footed, a dog, nahh to slow.. No idea what was gonna pop out at me. I landed the fish and by this point i was feeling really cornered, I was holding my rod and fish in one hand and had pulled my knife from my side. This "thing was coming straight from my way out, then i a big round head and two little beady eyes emerge from the tall grass.. Jesus, the biggest beaver i had ever seen in my life, he moved forward quickly and paused, he didnt see me till the last second.. " can this thing kill me"? I thought to myself, sure looked like he wanted to. By this time it was to late, if he was comming at me i was making hats.. suddenly he shot down the lil hill, hit the water i had to jump and made a quick 45*degree turn and headed for the downed tree. I tossed my fish back and moved back down the river. This probably sounds funny.. and it is haha .. but I'm just glad it was a beaver that popped out the grass and not something more damaging. :crutch: Coulda got hairy
