Howdy all, it has been quite sometime since I have posted anything on the forum. Hope to become more active again here over the winter and share patterns as they come of the vise. Here is a recent tie, called the Yeah Mon! Straight from Trenchtown!

#12 on that particular fly. I also tie it in #14, #16 and #18 sizes. Deadly winter pattern. The blue bead is the key. This one is Brass, but Montana Fly Co and Nymph Head both make tungsten versions that work really well with the pattern as well. The fly is basically a thread tapered body and then the magic shrimp foil pulled over the back, rib wrapped and then coated with Clear Lacquer. Tight wraps.

The only problem I had flying with my tying gear, is they took my bottle of head cement, because of the flammable label. The way I combated that was got a little applicator bottle with out a label and transferred the stuff into there and have had no problems with checking it with TSA since. Good luck, hopefully you will get reimbursed for your stuff.

to get it to sit straight up like intended, wrap hackle around the first bend before you put in your winging material. This pattern is more of an emerger, rather then a dry.

Floats good, works really well as an emerger as well.

Attached is a BWO pattern I have been tweaking a bit. also pictured in the vise is a real one I found after I tied mine. Hook: Partridge K3A Swedish Dry Fly Hook #18 Thread: Olive Benecchi 12/0 Tail: Coq De Leon Body: Mix of BWO dry fly dubbing and Olive Micro Fly dubbing Rib: FlexiFloss Olive Under or lower wing: Tan UV Ice Dubbing, dubbed into noodle and tied in and then picked out sparsely to create the smaller mayfly wing. Over or Standard wing: Z-lon colored up. Thorax: Mix of Siman Peacock Eye Dubbing and Spiky squirrel dubbing and some deer or elk tips cut at the very top of the hair patch, twisted in a dubbing loop and picked out to get the life like legs. okay I guess the photo I was trying to upload will not. but here are the two individual photos. let me know how they look.

Rockworm you are cool man :headbang: You know your hooks!! Partridge does not make these hooks any more, I have about 20 size #14 and the same in #16 going to keep these for realistics, just not yet! They are a real cool hook try tying some extend a body nymphs on them to they work great! Blessings, Jeremy you can still find the them via the net. A few years ago I scored a few packs from Bob Marriots Fly Shop. Ebay is always a good bet and I know you can still find them in some of the european sites.

The hooks are mainly available overseas and used by thousands of tiers across the pond. They are a great hook.

I too like the using flat lead. Here is a pattern I created a few years back just using flat lead as the body. I don't think it would have turned out using rounded lead.

Thanks All. Should be a good time. Have plenty of vladi worms as well as sj worms! Have a few other patterns that I have been working on as well.

Got a trip coming up to the San Juan next week and here's a few patterns I twisted up for the trip.
