  1. Dr. Rock, nice flies indeed! Since you've won your second consecutive grand prize, I'd like to encourage you to become more of an active member here and share your techniques and expertise. I know life gets in the way, but seeing as how you appreciate the community Will has developed here, I know many tiers here could benefit from from you sharing your tips. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more soon! Dart, Yes you are right. i will post more in the future most likely on classic forum. Life has been getting in the way and have been devoting a lot of time to work, some family medical issues, and to my fly tying club. The Northwest Atlantic Salmon Fly Guild. Our club has increased to 50 members and I'm trying to do the best I can with them. Several of the members from the Salmon fly forum have come and stayed with me and know what I mean. it has been great. But again you are right and I'll do my best. By the way, to give credit where credit is do, Edwin Rist won the contest for 2008 with his incredible fly and I was fortunate to win in 2007. Thank you so much for your comments Rocky
  2. Thank you guys for the votes. There were some exceptional flies this year and I personally liked the mantis. Major kudos to Will for the outstanding job he does on these contests, but more importantly is the fly tying community/family that he has spawned. Again Will, I applaud you for your efforts. And of course Great flies guys !!!! Rockwell hammond, Jr Dr. Rock
  3. Thanks Will for all your time, effort, and expertise. For me the voting went very smoothly. hope you are feeling better. Congrats to all that entered !!! The quality of flies in the past two years have risen to a whole new level which I credit to the interaction of tyers using this site. Thank you again Will, You are the man !!! Rocky Hammond (Dr Rock)
  4. Thanks Will, What a undertaking and to keep things so organized is beyond me. All my flies are in the right category. I sent a personal e-mail as to a couple of the pics. Thank you again for a job well done !!!!! Dr. Rock
  5. Thank you for the compliment on my work. Anyhow, the green feather is Quetzal which unfortunately is hard to obtain. I'll try to post the Birdwing recipe in the near future. I'm not very good at this computer stuff.
  6. I would like to thank all the members and participants in the 2007 FTF Contest. I especially would like to thank Smallie Hunter for his comprehensive and professional efforts to bring this contest to fruition. I'm honored that my fly was selected as the overall winner. I would also like to thank my fellow members of the Northwest Atlantic Salmon Fly Guild for their encouragement. They are a wonderful group who show a passion for tying. I would like to recognize those people who have mentored me, supplied me with materials for this contest, and encouraged me in tying. They are truly top notch people who have a wealth of knowledge and insight. To Tony Smith, Steve Brocco, Harry Lemire, Glenn Wilson, John Olschewsky, Dave McNeese, Rich Youngers, Elva Hartwig, Todd Yorke, Brad Boyden, Ron Romig, Mike Radencich, Marvin Nolte, Anton and Edwin Rist, Ed Wolfer, Roger Plourde, Jens Pilgard, Phil Castleman, Ronn Lucas, Ron Reinhold, Bill Hrinko and of course John McLain, I think you are the best. Rockwell Hammond, Jr.
  7. Will, Just voted. Great job on the photos !!!. Thanks for taking the photo again. looks great.
  8. Looks great! The only thing would be on the Trout-Nymph. The fly looks a little dark so the true colors of the fly are not reflected in the pic. What a undertaking to take all these pics and you must be commended for the time you spent and the quality of the pics. Thanks for tackling this. Dr Rock
  9. One shirt....Kelly green...Large Thanks
