HI all. Beginners question for tying tubes. I'm pretty sure I can source the appropriate materials.... Just wondering if there are any special skills or techniques that we need to develop to be successful? Am looking at tying up some streamers on tubes for a mate who will be fishing BC in the Fall. Many thanks.

A couple questions. 1. Im starting to get into tube tying and was wondering what kind of "homemade" materials you guys suggest, I have plenty of traditional fly tying materials so thats not a problem 2. Can you tie dry flies on a tube? 3. How can you rig a tube without using the rubber piece on the end of the hook (its like a little rubber piece that goes on the eye of the hook after you tie it and then you insert it into the actual tube) Thanks, Ryver A.

In my fifth installment of tube fly videos, I review two vises at different price points, the Stonfo Tube Fly Vise and HMH Tube Fly Tool. Topics discussed include: 1. Setup 2. Features 3. Quality 4. Price I also invite viewers with experience using tube fly vises to comment below the video, thus I encourage anyone on this forum to do the same on the YouTube page. TC

This is the second in a series titled "Tube Flies," with the focus being on the setup of the vise tool and tying a basic tube fly (Woolly Bugger). I also discuss a change in the materials to purchase from HMH, which is a revision from the first video. Enjoy! TC

Here's my newest YouTube fly tying tutorial, featuring Tube Flies. This is the first in a series, and if you haven't jumped into this aspect of fly tying yet, I definitely suggest trying it out. Though some find applications in trout fishing, I prefer to utilize tube flies for steelhead, striped bass, and saltwater applications. Thanks as always for viewing, and feel free to comment based on my questions in the video. TC
