Similar to the Spruce Moth I tied a while back; a bit too much thorax (could have extended the abdomen forward more) and for my eyes I need an indicator but overall it’s okay.

 hook - WFC Model 6 #8
thread - Uni 6/0 camel
tag - medium tinsel holo black
abdomen - Ice Dub brown
overbody/head - 1mm foam brown
wing - Congo Hair baitfish grey
legs - pheasant rump dyed brown
collar/thorax - deer hair dyed brown

Regards,
Scott

Indian Streamer - This fly is based on a prehistoric lure used by the Iroquois (and possibly Algonquin) Indians in the Great Lakes area of the country based on a sun-bleached avian bone and gouge/bone hook on a handline.  Check here for the story - "Old Indian Type of Bone Streamer - Fly Angler's OnLine Volumn 7 week 12 (flyanglersonline.com).  The fly is still known as a don't-leave-home-without-it pattern in many fishers fly boxes today.

Original - Some variations to this pattern includes using a black wire spiral, clear plastic or pearl/opal belly strip, and bucktail -either brown, black or brown-dyed green - under the peacock back.

Hook - Mustad 9671 or 9672, 8

Thread - black

Body - white wool yarn

Back - 4-6 peacock herls, tied in at the front, head finished BUT thread NOT cut, then thread spiraled to the back and finished there with the peacock along the top of the fly

MMT Indian Streamer - This is MModern Take on the above pattern and has worked quite nicely here in central New York.  I sometimes use pearl canvas cord wrapped on the shank for the body instead of the metallic cord.

Hook - Mustad 9672 or 9671, 6-10

Thread - mono and black

Body - Darice Bright Jewels Metallic Cord or mylar substitute, tied at back with mono then clear head cement (I used SHHAN) and head tied with black thread

Wing - brown-dyed green, brown-dyed olive. or olive bucktail, sparse under 3-4 strands of peacock Krystal Flash, doubled and tied right on top of bucktail
