MuskyFlyGuy 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2022 We finally got out fishing for the first time this year. We floated a section of the St Croix with a guide. Beautiful day, with lots of sun. The water was up, but was clear and very fishable. We caught fish on all the usual characters. Mid-day I put on Boogle Bug and caught fish on it, which is a little early in the season. The fish were in good shape and hit very aggressively. My wife caught one that was marked very impressively. We had a great day and a special thanks to our guide, Stu, for his expertise and friendship. Looking forward to more days like this. And yes, we are hurting today. Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2022 Nice smallies. And surprised they are hitting top water already this early, very cool.
MuskyFlyGuy 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2022 The guide wanted to try them to get an idea how things were going for subsequent trips. We used 7 and 8 weight rods. I was pleased with the percentage of spots we hit, including the tight lies. What a nice way to start the season.
