September Flies From the Vise

please dont turn the fly of the month thread into a "test" thread

mike chell (moderator) already locked up the previous "test" thread. lets not let him do it again here

by now we all know some can post photos and others cant

some get the 403 forbidden message others do not. some can edit and others cannot

@Steeldrifter has emailed the owner of the problem and hopefully he will identify and fix the problem

the last time we had problems it took about 2 weeks to fix

Hmmm...let me try. I haven't been over the vise for 2 months so this is an old picture...not from September.

After hearing about and seeing a picture of this fly over at the Steelhead swap, I couldn't resist an attempt.  Always nice the see the imperfections that show up in photos.

Preston Jennings' Wet Steelhead - variant

Hook: #8 (#4-6 heavy sproat)

Thread: white

Tag/Rib: DMC metallic thread (oval gold tinsel)

Tail: golden pheasant tippet

Hackle: brown rooster hackle

Body: DMC satin floss, orange - S741 (Pearsall's #156A)

Thread: black

Under wing: cinnamon turkey tail

Over wing: bronze mallard

Dickie's Double Martini, variant

from a resurrected thread a few days ago.

Hook: Eagle Claw 1/32 ball head jig hook, collar removed, head painted black

Thread: black

Tail: red Marabou, tips pinched

Body: 2 small white rubber legs tied in at rear, 50% small black chenille, two small white rubber legs tied in at midsection, black hackle fibers tied in on top, 50% small yellow chenille
