October Flies From The Vise

Recommended Posts

Charlie boy hopper. Today I cut, aerate and overseed the lawn. Tomorrow it’s the canal and Monday the big D. Gonna need a few more of these as I expect to be terrorized by the canal pickerel.

Size 8 hook

Thread - flo green 210 ultra

Body - craft foam

Legs - Medium barred round brown/green

Wing - natural deer body hair.

Eye - overly aggressive black sharpie. Should have put the old magnifiers down.

Looks like the back end is split vertically; did you tie the foam in that orientation, as opposed to Charlie Craven’s horizontal?

Regards,
Scott,

Regards,
Scott,

No I tied and glued the foam horizontally but I took the extra step of cutting a V in the tail so I can claim the fly a poop boy hopper. Kidding of course. there was no particular reason other then I saw another video  where the V was cut in the tail
