Kim,

Just read a story about the Maple Syrup Fly, what an adventure they’ve had with that creation. I’ll have to try and tie some as we here in MI make our own Maple Syrup up North at my in-laws homestead.

Made a few minor changes to the original; heavier hackle, a shoulder and denser head because I want it to float.

hook - WFC Model 6 #10
thread - Uni 8/0 red 
tag - Depth Ray fluoro red/resin
tail - bronze mallard
rib - small wire gold
body - hare’s ear/Simi Seal red
hackle - dyed claret (1 Tbs Rit Wine/1 cup water)
shoulder - pheasant rump dyed claret
collar/head - deer hair

Thanks Daryl, I don't buy dubbing much anymore, but I may have to try some of that. The color looks much better on your fly than on their website
