softhackle 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2005 I fish primarily for trout in the Rockies, and most often reach for a Royal Wulff, CDC and elk, parachute caddis, or a Madam X pattern....typically in about a size 12. I'll usually tie the Royal Wulff parachute style....just easier for me to tie and floats great.
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2005 Size 14 parachute Adams
Flyrod 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2005 QUOTE (steeldrifter @ Jun 3 2005, 11:41 AM) Size 14 parachute Adams Mr, Steeldrifter. I always thought Adams imitate mayflies, so they wouldn't fit into the attractor category, am I wrong? Mine would be the Madame X.
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2005 An attractor is a "genralized" pattern that does not represent one specific food sorce, but rather could imitate a wide range of insects. The Adams is probably the most popular fly for a "wide range imitation" of mayflys so I'd think it would fit the attrator catagory perfect
