FL H2O 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2005 Great tie That's an awesome pattern, 'cuz it's not just a herring. It's a sardine, a bunker, a shad, a menhaden, etc.
CTXFINS 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2005 Nice fly! Angel Hair is an excellent material I think. I love the action it has in the water, hard for fish to resist.
Blueman89 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2005 This is a very nice fly. This fly could imitate any kind of baitfish with a few color adjustments. I just added it to Striped Bass.
uffepuffe 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2005 Thank you all! It's one of my favorite pike patterns! As you said, with a few colour adjustments it could imitate almost any baitfish. Below is a picture of a simillar kind of fly, but with lagre glas beads as eyes and fibers from a syntetic duster (!). It might sound strange, but these fibers has fantastic movement as well as beeing the most durable of all materials I've tried for pike flies!
