WWKimba 0 Report post Posted January 27 Count me in for this one! Since i's a March swap (National Women's Month) I've gotta tie some flies from one of the most remarkable woman who LOVED fishing, tying, hunting and shooting trap AND proprietor of Ed's Sports Shop in Baldwin, MI from 1945 to 1992 - Josephine Sedlecky-Borsum. She was the first PERSON to ever give fly tying demonstrations at the Smithsonian (1987). She was the first woman to organize and host a national trap shooting competition just for women. Oh, and by the way - she's inducted in the Michigan Fly HOF. You wonder what she did in her SPARE time! Put me down for her Killer pattern. Kim

jvmills 0 Report post Posted January 27 I’ll go with John Barr’s Copper John. Been meaning to give it a try
vicrider 0 Report post Posted January 27 I'll help you fill it out if it isn't yet. I'm looking toward the Big Hole Demon. Depending on where you look it was invented by Dan Bailey but some others lay claim. I have a few models to copy from since Flytire did them for a swap one time and this means I have a quality example to emulate.

If one of the swappers fall by the wayside you're up. Fair enough?

WWKimba 0 Report post Posted January 28 Thank you for including me, but if someone else (say someone new to swaps/new to tying) would like to join I'll happily give up my spot to them. Try and include some new faces instead of the usual rogue's gallery! Kim

I'll open it back up for a week and see if we can get a new swapper

vicrider 0 Report post Posted January 28 In most of our swaps you have 12 tyers and do not include yourself. You get twelve different ones back and not your own. This has been the tradition on the board for years and if you did this you'd have a spot for a new tyer to get in. Just a thought. I'm more than willing to wait until an opening comes up since I already have a bunch of flies to tie for other swaps but Kim should not need to give a spot for a new tyer to the game since that spot is already there if move from the list to the Swapmeister spot.
