Crazy Bug

I turned it upside down to get a shot of it and it flew away. So the whole top shell of it is wings.That's a cool bug!

It's a Clavate Tortoise Beetle, Deloyala clavata. They retract their antennae when threatened.

No, not aquatic. They feed on plants in the morning glory family. My guess is that wickedcarpenter was probably out working in the yard before visiting his tying desk
