Gun room expansion (again)

Always something going on here. Latest project I have been working on late at night after rod work is expanding the gun room again. After expanding it twice in the past year I finally said the hell with it and just making the entire basement the gun room. Still have a lot to do and waiting on some stuff to show up yet, but it's shaping up pretty well now. Lots of work, and my body is showing me I am not as young as I use to be for sure. Will have room for at least a dozen new rifle builds and numerous pistols so this should be the last expansion needed.

Also will be doing another lil project and adding a 2nd reinforced door to the room. Already have steel doors and few other things but figure a 2nd reinforced door would also be a good idea.

Rest of the flooring came today along with the other items I was waiting for so between rod work I was able to get most of the remodel done finally. Which is good because I'm gettin too old for this shit, maybe my back will finally start feeling better now that I'm done.

Now that you're done with the gun room, you can complete the work on the "throne" room.

Yeah ... not as much room to adapt and change the way you can in that workshop/aquarium/gun room.  Oh, and R/V room for a while.

Took the bullpup 12g with me the last two range days. Hit 100rds through it today so its fully broken in now and cycling like a champ. Put 50 slugs through it today. This thing kicks like a sunofabicth that's for sure. Not sure if its just because its a bullpup/18" barrel or what, but damn it has much more recoil than my other 12g's. After about two mags today it actually killed my red dot. Might just put some Magpul flip up's on it then if its gonna be a red dot killer. The dot I had on it was not a bottom of barrel one, but not a high end on either. I don't mind dropping $150 or so on another, but not if its just gonna kill it as well.

I always found that shotguns with pistol grips have far more recoil. I’m no physicist but it might be because your hand is more forward so it absorbs less of the rearward force meaning there’s more force hitting the shoulder??? Sounds good anyway.

I honestly don't know, maybe makes sense? but all I know is this bullpup kicks a lot harder than any other 12g I have. It's a damn fun gun though thats for sure, don't get me wrong. But with my shoulder (bad rotator cuff) I don't think it will be a weekly range toy 😏

I would have thought with the straight in line buffer system it would help reduce recoil. I have no personal experience with any bullpup design, possibly due to the chamber behind the trigger group and closer to the shoulder and in direct line its recoil is more direct? I also agree with Greg not a fan of pistol grips on shotguns the few I have shot I did not like the recoil using the same military 00 buck as in  the model 870 or Mosberg 500 full stocks.

You must be secure in your gun room.   Most peeps opt for gun safes for the good stuff..   Except for maybe a cheap pump gun under the bed, inexpensive pistol in a drawer, pocket pistol in the truck.  ????

I'm a bit different than most people that have to leave for work or family/kids reasons. On top of the normal stuff like steel doors, automatic motion lights, shatter proof windows.. I work from home, don't have much of a family left, so never have to go to things for family reasons etc.... and being such an introvert, I am home probably 99% of the time, and I almost always have a loaded firearm for home defense with in reach of me no matter where I am in the house.
