Does Anyone Recognize This Tyer...??

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

New here. Been flyfishing for too many years to mention, and over the years, I have collected many flies and fly plates by many tyers. I was cleaning out a drawer and ran across these, and for the life of me, I can't remember where I got them from and who tied them! I can't make out the signature and thought perhaps, someone here has run across him, or can give me more information on the tyer.

What I can possibly make out...: Gordon B. Mache----- Red--------tt (??)

Thank you all, in advance,

Robert

I tried googling that and a variation or 2 with no luck.

I'm hoping Norm (flytire) gets involved. He is usually great at tracking down these kinds of things.

My Google search uncovered that this fly is called a Jordon B. Mackey of Redcasta and was tied by Admiral Lord Nelson, a renowned fly fisher and tier who they ultimate named a Salmon fly after. The internet is never wrong.

There is not one. I guess I’m the only one who finds the humor in my jokes.
