Hook: #8, 2xl

Thread: 72D, camel

Weight: Lead wire, .02, along length of hook shank

Tail/Palmered Rib: Trailing edge of a Starling primary, split and colored with yellow marker, trimmed to length 

Body: Yellow floss

Head: Peacock herl.  

Next time maybe give that body a bit of taper by cutting down on  the lead wraps.

  Couple big articulated streamers. Size 1 DT mustad big eyed hooks. 30# mono with plastic beads. Flash, marabou, hackles, Estaz body wraps. Doubled the mono thru the eye and back to secure. Big eyed hooks help with this. Maybe shoulda put lead eyes like the third one to turn em over and sink faster…

Bucktail decievers ~ 5”

hook: Ahrex #1/0 minnow

thread: nano silk 50D

tail: bucktail, 4 or more grizzly saddles, optional - ostrich

body:  several small amounts of buck tail tied either 360 or 180.  Small amount of flash, optional - Nayat, Congo hair gills, strung fuzzy fiber.

eyes: 3D or tab eyes or stick on eyes. Optional - coat eyes with gorilla clear glue and rotate while it cures or use uv resin.

hold finished fly under running water for twenty seconds to shape and dry on paper towel.

Thanks. Target is striped bass in the salt or brackish water. I am fortunate to have retired near bay that has lots of life, especially during spring and fall migration. Downside is that it is tougher to get to my favorite trout waters.  Herring are starting and the ospreys and stripers follow them.  Schools of Juvenile pogies, menhaden/bunker are harassed by bass and blues as the water cools in September. I’m more likely to fish a simpler fly but enjoy tying these.

I keep saying I'll do more salt fishing, but only seem to make it out there once or twice a year.
