Fly Tying Tips and Tricks

Recommended Posts

Tim Flagler put up a new parachute light Cahill video where he has a new method for building a post.  Basically he twists the Antron b4 tying in the post which makes it more rigid to tie too.  As always with his videos, it’s a nice concise video but I could see this being used for any parachute post.

This one is new and avoids stiffening with resin, I think it’s a good shift to avoid the extra weight on a dry fly.

how much weight does a dab of resin add to a dry fly??

Extra, but negligible I’m sure.

Has anyone tried the UV method to secure the hackle to the post?  I'm sure it'll work but is it durable?
