Heff2 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2023 Wanted to try a fully dressed fly Durham Ranger hook: 2/0 salmon with twisted mono for eye Tip: silver oval, yellow floss Tail: golden pheasant topped with chin feather from dyed red golden pheasant, black ostrich herl body: yellow floss, orange seal fur, burnt orange seal fur, black seal fur. Should have a badger hackle but I forgot it. rib: silver flat tinsel with silver oval on top Throat: light blue hackle Wing: jungle cock, tippet topping: golden pheasant crests Cheek: jungle cock and light blue tips from dyed turkey flats should have horns but I’m still waiting for my macaw tail to arrive. The original recipe called for standard medium chenille with the cut ends dipped in vinyl cement to prevent fraying. Could this have been an early version of the San Juan Worm in 1980?
