That fly looks very good Arthur. A pattern I haven't tied in ages. I'll have to give it another go.

Hmmm. I haven't contacted Dave in a couple of years. We used to email occasionally, but somehow drifted away from that. He invited me into his tying group on Facebook, but since I have never been connected with that site and do not intend to be involved I was unable to take him up on the invite. He is a great tyer and his instructions would no doubt be of tremendous value.

Just spectacular !!!!! . . . some of you guys have absolutely amazing skills.  I tie mostly size 20-22 flies (that don't take many hours to complete).  But I do like a beautiful jungle cock cheek on some streamers . . .

Congratulations and Best Regards,

Thx @flyflinger I was tying a sz 20 midge the other day, had to find my readers for that one. Forgot how tricky the little ones can be.

Amen brother!  The magnification level of my "reading glasses" has been constantly increasing over the (many) years/decades I've been tying . . . I'm up to 2.75X for day-to-day use, and 4.0X for fly tying.

For small flies, avoiding too much bulk is the key.  The increasing availability and colors of these very-small-diameter tying threads in the last decade has been very helpful.  Ed Engle has several excellent books on small flies - highly recommended!

Regards,
