Norm, a little muted compared to some of the flies off your vice lately but perfect, as always.

Very nice Bruce,  I also like the complete line of Renomed's in the back ground.  couple deer hair questions: Is that fugley packer worth the investment? and do you steam a packed fly before shaping?

Ya, luv those scissors, I use Anadromous as well and I use fugly junior, and another from a guy , Greg Stine.
I do use a steamer on most. I have the original fugly but it’s too big for me

Thx Bruce, I looked at getting the full size fugly but it seemed too large. I’ll see if I can find a jr or perhaps make something smaller.  Packing with my finger tips seems to end in me bleeding from somewhere all too often.

I put the fine point renomeds on my gift list, I was at a tying demo 2 weeks ago, got to hold those and the kopters and I found the renomeds more comfortable. Still trying to kind something comfy so I keep them in hand.

Weather tonite was far to nice to be inside so I chose to tie a fly outside for the first time.   IMG_3437.thumb.jpeg.9ef8e9fc37d60970cb138564381ceef8.jpeg

Bruce’s recent efforts combined with the challenge I posted led me to tying a messinger frog. The trimming is always satisfying but having the dust from the final shaping float away in the breeze was an unexpected benefit.  I’ll be sure to take the blower to the deck in the morning.IMG_3438.thumb.jpeg.3dc6d101fab96c02d89c3c9f98867e02.jpeg

came out okay, couldn't find brass pins, so I took a torch regular pins so they lost their temper.  They’ll rust eventually but at the moment they’re covered in resin so I’m not worried.  IMG_3442.thumb.jpeg.b984e6318d772c814a9c6f32ecc2c8fb.jpeg

ps @Bruce Derington where did you get that case of razor blades?  When I got a 100 pack I thought I was set for life but I often use 2+ per fly so I’m down to a few.
