Just sprung for a mid 50's Pflueger 1494. Definitely not a closet queen reel. Got some paint missing with some bumps and bruises but it has some major character. I hope I am in as good of shape as it is when I am right at 70 years old. If I am not happy with it I can return it but I don't see that happening. Seller guarantees that it is in good working condition. Sub $40 price.

1454 or 1494? One way or the other a fine reel at a good price.

It is a 1494. I guess I "fat fingered" when typing. Hopefully it will be delivered today. I am at the mercy of USPS, though.

Should be good for another 70 years!

It will probably outlast me. May take the USPS that long to get it to me. The website says that it is "Out For Delivery". We shall see.

LoL

I did actually get it today. The 1494 is a really heavy made reel. It came with line on it so I am Put some dressing on it and see how it does. If it is too far gone, i have some brand new line to load the spool with. Life is good.
