NW Wisconsin yesterday

Recommended Posts

We floated a section of a river yesterday with a guide out of a drift boat. It was a beautiful day and the water was in great shape. Fish were out early on the sand flats, but were not interested in eating. Throughout the day we saw two muskies, a four foot sturgeon, numerous smallies, and a literal ton of several species of redhorse.
IMG_2049.jpegIMG_2051.jpegWe caught fish throughout the day on Boogle bugs, leech patterns, and Murdich Wigglers. We caught some tight to cover, but a number had to be worked before they took. It was fun sight fishing to them. We even had a couple of sippers. My highlight was catching 4 on 5 consecutive casts. They all aggressively hit the Murdich.

Wow! That’s sweet, love the smallie. It would be awesome to have all of those possibilities!

Wow!  Your Smallies are beautifully marked. The locals here in Mass tend to be dark and not that vibrant. Nice fish!

Nice solid smallie Tom. It's so cool to see a sturgeon in a river. I've only seen one myself in a river but still remember it even though it was over 20 yrs ago. When you are trout fishing and a 4' fish swims right by the boat when you aren't expecting it, it is something you don't forget. Scared the hell out of me at first 😂
