MuskyFlyGuy 0 Report post Posted August 15 We floated a section of a river yesterday with a guide out of a drift boat. It was a beautiful day and the water was in great shape. Fish were out early on the sand flats, but were not interested in eating. Throughout the day we saw two muskies, a four foot sturgeon, numerous smallies, and a literal ton of several species of redhorse. We caught fish throughout the day on Boogle bugs, leech patterns, and Murdich Wigglers. We caught some tight to cover, but a number had to be worked before they took. It was fun sight fishing to them. We even had a couple of sippers. My highlight was catching 4 on 5 consecutive casts. They all aggressively hit the Murdich. DFoster 0 Report post Posted August 19 Wow! Your Smallies are beautifully marked. The locals here in Mass tend to be dark and not that vibrant. Nice fish!
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted August 20 Nice solid smallie Tom. It's so cool to see a sturgeon in a river. I've only seen one myself in a river but still remember it even though it was over 20 yrs ago. When you are trout fishing and a 4' fish swims right by the boat when you aren't expecting it, it is something you don't forget. Scared the hell out of me at first 😂
