h2odad 0 Report post Posted August 31 The old foam I have seems to sink more than float. I've never had great success with foam flies floating to my satisfaction. At this point, I expect I am doing something wrong. What type foams are people using to make hopper/stimulator/indicator patterns? Are you treating them to keep them floating longer? Thanks

I don't have any issues with using craft store foam, its all I ever use. Gurglers, Stealth Bombers, Hoppers, Poppers. I also use the craft store foam with adhesive on one side to make thicker sheets when necessary - I'm really surprised how well the adhesive works when wet. I can't ever remember having it separate. In fact, the sticky foam works so well, I keep a few different colors of it in my vest, cut into small rectangles, for the rare occasion I use an indicator - much like the Palsa pinch-on foam indicators. I can't ever remember treating foam with floatant. Actually, I think that would be counter-productive as the juice would displace some air in the foam. Maybe Rick is correct.
