These may not be the prettiest softies in the swap but I'm pretty sure they are the biggest.😀

Another Atherton fan. This is going to be fun. Your flies are lovely. I have a small stash of Atherton s orange silk that I use for tying his dry flies. These were tied by him.

Feel free to go over to the introduce yourself board and tell us a little bit about your self.

http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?/forum/7-introduce-yourself/

Also, post your fine ties on the flys for the month thread, you’re obviously an accomplished tier, love to see more of your flys.

Might want to check out the challenge thread also.

Welcome to the board!

In my never ending attempts to create something that falls close to the guidelines of the swap but also something breaking the mold, I have finished my swap flies and will get them out shortly. CDC is well known for it's fish attracting movement in water and is usually used in conjunction with dry fly components. I have read lots of good reports on it being used on nymphs and subsurface also so I created a soft hackle with amber wire body, herl thorax, and CDC hackle plucked from stem and spread around hook in a couple of bunches. I think it has potential and hope someone gives it a good try. I will if I ever get out to use them.

Since this fly used a lot of herl and left a lot of waste I grabbed a bunch of hooks and used it up tying some Cracklebacks. Once again deviating on my own path the body is not the usual floss, which I have plenty of, but cut then wrapped body of closed cell foam. This should make it a good floater and I know I will give this a try on the local reservoirs for perch (those things the rest of the world calls bluegills). Right now we are so hurting for rain the ponds are drying up and bank fishing is tough and boat landings don't reach the water anymore.

Received CP’s flys yesterday, first set in.

Took a little peek at them, nice, very nice work! Had to use a magnifying glass to see them, great job.

Thanks for the extra flys, not necessary, but very appreciated, thank you.
