Fishing started last Monday. So much wind we stayed in our bay and caught walleyes. Tuesday was a musky day. No followers and no hits. Wednesday wind came down a little as we caught smallies on Lindy rigs. Thursday caught some more SMB and took out my flyrod and put on a Murdich Minnow. The wind was down and the weather was great on the first cast. By the third cast the wind came up with a vengeance. The flyrod got put away. Some pictures of the fish.

Great pictures! Those are some beautiful smallies, the bite on my home river has died, I’m trying to figure out where the fished moved to and what streamer is going to work. We really could use some rain here in Michigan all the rivers are running low and clear.

Same here in Mass - we desperately need rain.  I went out yesterday and the few pools remaining on the stream were 90% choked with leaves. There is no water flow to clear them.  This is a strange time of year for a drought in New England.  We got some showers today so hopefully they are an indication of a change in the weather pattern.  I live for Autumn fly fishing  and sadly we like you are running out of days with "reasonable" temps for fishing quick.
