Not your great grandson's Subaru...

Recommended Posts

Very cool... Years and years ago, when I was fresh  out of the service in 1971 I heard my first ads for Subaru - but had never seen one at all.  In my foolish mind I thought the name of the brand was "Super 'Roo" - and thought that it was a car being built in Australia...   Over many years Subarus have earned a fine reputation that other makers can only dream about...   I've never owned one at all - but the folks I know that have them are quite satisfied...

I owned a bright blue WRX Impreza hatchback for just a handful of months in 2003 before my first wife totaled it.

She survived without a scratch.

We've become a Subaru family now. Bought a 2019 Outback, put 90K on it and wife took it in for oil change and came with a 2024 Forester. So far they are nothing but great cars but I'm never going to be a fan of the lane centering and self steering stuff. Auto braking, distance following on freeways, a lot of things are great but don't like to have to pull against the lane centering controls. Brother in law had one in CO and they have what most call the best 4x4 and it is almost hard to spin or slide in the rare snows we get here.
