  • Bead: 2.4 mm, Black or Black Nickel
  • Tail: CDL, Med. Pardo
  • Body: KF, Black/Pearl
  • Rib: Turkey Biot, Olive
  • Collar: SLF Squirrel Dubbing, Olive

Tip - Silver tinsel
Ribbing - Gold tinsel
Body - Chartreuse floss
Throat - Blue hackle
Under wing - Chartreuse floss
Wing - Gray squirrel
Collar - Chartreuse chenille

There are multiple versions of the recipe on the internet.

Some with krystal flash under wing, some with a tail and others with green hackle throat.

The Kilchis Green was developed by Oregon guide Rich Youngers.

This fly is similar to the Kilchis Killer developed by Northwest Fly Fisherman/Author John Shewey

Here's a terrestrial attractor pattern of mine that I've been trying different combinations with.  I had pretty good success in the late summer and early fall with these.

THE TINY MONSTER

HOOK: #12 1XS 2XL NYMPH

THREAD: BLACK 6/0

EYE: 25LB TRILENE MONO- GREEN MELTED

UNDER BODY: HARELINE DUBBING 50/50 MIX OF LIGHT OLIVE AND DARK OLIVE

ABDOMEN:  OLIVE HEN, PALMERED AND CLIPPED

RIB: ULRA WIRE- RED

THORAX: HARELINE DUBBING: LIGHT BROWN

LEGS: (6) GOLDEN PHEASANT TAIL FIBERS: NATURAL, KNOTTED

HEAD: HARELINE DUBBING: LIGHT BROWN

WING CASE: YELLOW MOTTLED WITH U.V. RESIN

THORAX: HARELINE DUBBING

LEGS: RUBBER.

I bet it would also work great tied as a dry on a dead drift or dapping. Nice work.

The page 4 flies are all very nice ties. I wish I had something to contribute but I’ve been working on painting poppers with an airbrush. It’s not going as well as I envisioned.
