Sorry, I don't tie with silk threads. Fish can't tell the difference

I'm incredibly envious of the way that you are able to nail the proportions for every fly that you tie, good work as always.

Thread - Orange
Tag - Strand of orange floss
Ribbing - Oval gold tinsel
Body - Dubbed with hare's mask fur
Hackle - Grizzly saddle tied palmer-style

Thank you for the kind words.  I love to tie and fish the classic UK and Catskill patterns.  I prefer to fish soft hackles or winged wets whenever the conditions will allow.  They caught trout a hundred years ago and they still work well when fished correctly.

To my eye that looks like an exceptional fish catcher. I think I'll add a few to my box.  Nice work as always!

Gloria's Green Skirt

Hook - Single salmon
Thread - Orange
Butt - Fluorescent green chenille wound to form egg shape
Hackle - Fluorescent yellow tied ahead of the green butt
Shoulder - Fluorescent hot orange chenille wound to form egg shape

This pattern was developed by James Garrett of Washington for the Dungeness River. It works especially well for Chum Salmon.
