BowFish 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2005 Has anyone on here used this pattern? Looks like a very good pattern. I have tied some, but haven't fished them yet.. http://www.mcflyshop.com/articles/index.php?targetID=
MIKE*A 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2005 I've never seen that particular one before, but it certainly looks like it will catch fish! I tie one kind of along the same lines, but use bunny strips wound around the hook for the body instead of that dubbing. Mike
Joe Hard 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2005 That fly was in the 2004 summer Fly Tyer there were two other patterns as well, baby and juinor dad. They all look good.
BowFish 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2005 I had been searching the internet a while back for a pattern, not sure now which one it was. However, I came across this and it looked like it could be very productive. So I ordered up some sparkle leech dubbing in pumpkin, olive and black.. plus more silly legs etc.. came out pretty good. Can't wait until I'm back home in the Ozarks to try them out.

Mandoyak 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 I've seen that fly in flyshops & my fishing buddy has thrown it a few times, no fish on it yet but it sure looks good. I've been trying to get around to working up a couple. Mandoyak
fuzzback 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2011 I've used it - vicious hits from three big carp in 40 minutes blind casting and some big rainbows in the spring. Best of all, it's an easy tie! JSzymczyk 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2011 I came up with something similar a few years ago using furled Polar Chenille for the tail and body. I've caught a lot of smallmouths on it the times it was used. All different colors too, not just browns and tans. http://www.flytyingforum.com/pattern4953.html
