Sjo Crapels 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2005 Never too old for learning, thanks for sharing. I've now got a new challenge. I'm used to fishing small nymphs, 18s en 20s, but I never tied a midge or buzzer in these sizes. I will try them though in the next trout season. mgj 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2005 mgj, those things are freakin tiny man, I had to hold them up to a light to see them What size tippet am I gonna have to buy to fish these itty bittys? yeah they're tiny. trout notice them though. I use 6x tippet usually for midging, mostly cuz I'm targeting big forkin' fish and they like this one. I hold the bend of the hook in hemostats and use a midge size threader. it's also helpful to be wearing reading glasses while doing it. especially if it happens to be brrr-freezing cold. it is an excellent rather unknown pattern I wish I could take credit for, easily tied in any color. glad to hear they made it. mgj
