wahl.flies 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2006 I live in florida (around the big bend area) and fish in the golf for reds and trout. Just wondering if anyone knew of a few patterns for these fish?
Guest Report post Posted January 30, 2006 I live near Tampa so I can tell you what works down this way. It's real simple; Chatreuse/white Clouser, Red & white Seaducer or Whistler for Trout. For Reds, a tan/white Clouser with some gold flash. I'd tie them all in sizes 4,2 and 1 maybe even going down to a six if the water is real clear on a calm day. The chart/white Clouser is my go-to fly, I only change if I get a refusal which isn't very often.
siestafred 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2006 I'm in Sarasota, and what Troutbum says is right on for here too! Lately I've had good success with this pattern I just kind of cobbled together as an easy tie to imitate shrimp.
