en4cer 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2004 Hey guys, keeping in mind that I''ve only been tying for about a week now, please let me know what you think about the attached picture of a (what I think) should be a Michigan wiggler. I used pheasant tail feathers rather than squirrel for the tail and body and the hackle might be the wrong colour. thanks!

Guest Report post Posted January 19, 2004 From what I have seen of them you can use almost any combo of chenille and hackle colors so you can't go wrong. I have never heard of anyone using the phesant tail instead of squirrel but it looks great to me and if you have only been tying that long you are well on your way!!!!! Keep the pics coming. Guest Report post Posted January 19, 2004 I KNOW it will catch fish. Exact copy of what I used when I fished there. Buddy of mine uses those quite a bit. Smiled when I saw it. Isn't it called a PM wiggler??? Not sure. I know I have a dozen or so of them still. Use them occasionally for summerruns here. Have caught a few here in the NW too. Guest Report post Posted January 19, 2004 It certainly looks fine and as others said, it will surely catch fish. That being said, you might want to stash a few of the first flies away and use them as a reference when you get more experienced. You'll be amazed at how much better you'll get. I have some of my first attempts that I keep and it certainly shows the journey of tying flies. Just a thought... Jim Smith
