Beginners trout fly swap

Recommended Posts

I'm just wondering if someone wants to host a trout fly swap for beginners. I'd really like to participate in a fly swap but I'm reluctant to join cause I'm just a beginner and my flies don't relly compare to what I've seen the most of you tie.

Thanks

Bead Head

I was in the very same boat a little while ago and the members here basically said "Don't worry about it: this isn't a talent show..... Jump in a swap and have fun!"

I will offer you the same advice. Just pick a swap you're interested in and say "I'm in!"

Unless otherwise stated by the swapmeister (or swapmistress), the guys and gals here are not interested in how pretty your flies are. It's about the ride, and not the destination.

If you get your ties done and submitted on time, you'll be more than welcome to join swaps.

Trust me: I bet mine are uglier than yours ;)

Cheers!

Gary

I just checked out fcflyguy's thread and his swap is for flies that look like trout. I was thinking more on the lines of flies that catch trout I guess I should have been a little more specific. No worries though I can wait

:D

Thanks Bead Head

the rules of the forum say we must complete 3 swaps and I have done 6.

I guess I should have said flies that you think might catch a trout cause mine don't catch anything either. :P

I'm in with size 14 Adams Irresistible.

actually, this deadline, though very reasonable, may be hard for me to hit. I should probably back out of this one. I'm actually moving twice between now and the 14th June. Two weeks left of school which includes a finals week, starting a new job of the 19th in another city, and haven't a clue which box my vise is in.

Sorry for the confusion.
