Atlantic Salmon? West Coast Salmon? European? any idea of the origin? What are you fishing with it?

Lots of salmon flies originated regionaly and don't exist outside of a 50mile radius of they're home river.

Hi

This is an old classic atlantic salmon pattern. The name of the fly is oak something and it sounded like oakam or oakman...

Doesn't sound like a British fly - Oakham was the county town of Rutland (as in the famous Rutland water trout fishery - which is a huge reservoir)... Anyway it's about 60 miles north of London (where it's flat as a pancake) and a good 200 miles from the nearest 'proper' salmon river.

Cheers

Dave
