A MOM fly

Recommended Posts

This is my first post in the CS and WF forum. The fly is my best shot at The Tipperlin(n), found in the MOM book. I chose to use a barred Guinea fowl feather rather than strongly dotted variety. It's tied on a chopped off Mustad 3366 size 2.

Referencing these patterns is tough for me as I don't own Forgotten Flies so I haven't made progress in tying that is equal to my interest. I'm starting to tie some Carrie Stevens patterns and hope to submit one before Aug 3rd.

I hope to be more active on this site.

Very nicely done, Dave. :headbang: Good choice of hook and materials, and well tied.

Welcome to the forum. Hope to see more of your work here.

That is one drop-dead gorgeous fly! For what it's worth, I wholly approve of your choice of speckled guinea over spotted guinea. I think it's a better look for this pattern.
