Peterjay 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2008 Keith - I really like the Man vs nature theme of the first one. The lichen shot reproduced too big to really get a good look at it, on my computer at least. Great to hear from somebody across the pond; I'm looking forward to seeing more. You've sure got a wealth of material to work with in the UK.

Thanks Peter, The first one was a must have shot if you know what I mean. This one was about the most level of them! LOL The lichens were amazing. So many different types in a small spot. I have a few more pictures that could be put up on the site. I am not YET the owner of a DSLR but someday I will be. The camera I use now is an Olympus SP-350 compact digital which does what I need for flys and such. Also have a Nikon Coolpix 880 compact digital but the batteries are poor and its like carrying around a house brick. I will see what else I can find for you pro's out there. Cheers Keith

Peterjay 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2008 Today was about as gray, wet, miserable and nasty as it gets around here, and that's saying a lot. I figured I'd better get out and shoot something anyway, since cabin fever is beginning to rear its ugly head. First stop was the town dock in Stonington CT in the hopes of finding some fresh seafood for sale. A lot of boats were in port, but I couldn't find anybody selling anything. A pile of discarded nylon rope wast the most color I've seen in weeks. Drove by the Pequot Golf Club and the parking lot looked pretty interesting in the fog. The color shot has the 3d green in the foreground. 209 yard par 3, uphill all the way. I used to be able to stick it with a 3 iron - probably need a driver now. Anyway, it was good to get out. FlyTyingPhotographer 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2008 Wow, Some great photos here. That's one monster catfish. I do some fishing for channel cats. The Jeeps look like fun. Here's a few of mine. The last one is a shot of me with a 40" Tiger Musky. The Sunset is Lake Ontelaunee in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The Fall Foliage shot was done in Port Clinton, Pennsylvania. The Sunrise shot was one I did in Pottstown while walking to work one morning. I caught the Musky in Marsh Creek Lake in Pennsylvania. I took 2nd place in a 2 day tournament that was taking place over the weekend. The first place fish in the musky category was a long thin male that was 1/2 inch longer than mine. I had the heaviest fish of the tournament. Mine was a female. They were judgeing the fish by length. Anyway, It was cool to take 2nd place and I had the fish mounted. It's on my living room wall. lykos33 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2008 Mad, thanks for the info - the idea of having a failsafe backup storage place is appealing - I don't think you can have too many places to store your data - maybe I'm a little paranoid, but we've got 4 computers and I have all my writing stored on all 4 of them - if I can find a way to digitize my negatives, I'll do the same with them. geeks.com has a machine that digitalizes (sp) negatives. It has a fairly high mp and the price was not really out of line if you have a lot of negatives to covert
