Redleg 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2006 The girl was pretty cute behind the counter at the airport, so that was promising. Unfortunately, the military didn't let us leave the airport to go look around while the jet re-fueled.
bugcam 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2006 Never been! I know that you have a lot of spectacular parks and unique geography there! It is on my families top dream vacation sites to go to though along with alaska! Have you travelled off the Rock much?
Graham 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2006 My wife's best friend is from a town called Dilldoe in Newfieland. Seems like an amusing name, but I hear there is GREAT salmon fishing close by. I hope to go there someday.

KVRNut 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2006 Haven't been to Newfoundland but I'd love to go there sometime to try the fishing then head up to Labrador to fish up there. Would really like to take in the history of The Rock too. During W.W. 2 my Dad used to go to Newfiejohn with the RCN before he got a draft over the pond to new construction and escort group. His favorite place was the Crow's Nest when they had a rare chance to go ashore. He liked it there.

Peterjay 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2006 Spent an hour on the runway at Gander once while returning from Paris - I thought the surrounding area was beautiful, still under a lot of snow, though it was late April - I hope to get up to L'Anse aux Meadows one of these days to check out the spot where the Norsemen set up shop and to do some fishing.
