Termite 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2006 Anyone herd of this company? I just had a conversation with them and will be trying their hackle soon. They seem honest and reasonable. Check them out Howards Hackle :headbang: The more sources of hackle the better! Termite
CapeBSalar 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2006 I have. Never used their products though. I've only heard good things about their hackle. Very limited colors however.
Inconnu 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 Hey yes! I have some of his stuff. It is hard to find in the shops because it had alot of trouble with quality about 6 or 8 years ago, but John has brought the quality up to a very high level in a very short time. He also has a very unique olive colour that you just have to see. I have been to his farm and bought his stuff from his inventory, but recently found some good deals in a local shop. His farm is about two hours south of me, so I stopped in one day to pick up some capes. I wrote a brief review for his website, you won't be disappointed by his feathers. Of course this is me promoting a Canadian grower, so I may be slightly biased......Kerry
Thibodeau 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 I have to say that their hackles would be hard to beat because of the cold weather up there. I've lived in Edmonton Alberta and I can vouch for the cold winters. Those roosters would have no choice but to grow really thick plumage. I would buy my hackle from them any day. The reason why the birds had problems in the beginning was probably the adjustment to the cold climate. They look pretty decent from the pictures.
