rawfish 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 I've heard some good things about the ebay knockoffs of renzetti vises and others. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with these no name vises. I'm ready for a new one but not ready to spend 100-200 or more. Thanks
steelie 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 Good Day, I would still go for the quality name brand vise. Steelie
maddog48 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 Read all the other posts and you're going to find that most of the gang here is in agreement with steelie. There's a good selection of vises for under $100 that you'll probably have better luck with than you would with the knock-offs. Mike

bootow 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 I tried to nickel and dime my way through tying for awhile. Finally broke down and bought some quality tools ( anvil & dr.slick scissors, rite ceramic bobbins and a renzetti travler). Not sure if its in my head or what but I am more inspired to tie now and as a result I'm getting better results. rscconrad 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 I have a regal I love and bought a regal knock off for my guest vise. I would recomend either. The knock off is as just about as good as the original for a lot less money. I like the regal conection to the base better than the knock off but I don't know if htat feature is worth a hundred bucks. The business end of hte vise is very comparable. If money is tight go for the knock off. Just my two cents Robert
