ironheader 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 hi everyone . I just bought a tying kit and was wondering , what would be the first fly I tie be ? I like steelhead fishing, and it is becoming winter. So, any ideas? thanx
chrisfish 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2006 I started with the wolly bugger. Its a good fly to tie, and fish. Add a colored head and you have an egg sucking leech. both are good flies to start with and they both catch fish. Steelies included Best of luck with the new kit. This site is a great place for advise and ideas. Post some pics when you get rolling, chris

AK-Edge 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2006 Yeah I would definitely go with a Wooley Bugger or Egg Sucking Leech. Those were my first patterns as well. I can tie quite a few more patterns now, but if nothing else is working I always tie one of those things on an something good usually happens.
