ARFLY 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 Man that thing is wild looking. I killed one above my front door not to long ago. Some places trout would eat those up. Bluegill too. You say the body is dubbing cased in plastic. Is the plastic tied in and pulled over the back or did you do something else?
JayMorr 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 Yes, you take some plastic, preferrably a Dry Cleaners bag since it is more durable, and then clump a small ball of dubbing in the plastic. You then tie it on to the shank and then trim off all the left over plastic. You can then leave it like that or do what I did and color the plastic with permanent marker and then I used UV KnotSense over the top. Tie this pattern up in a light brown color and smaller body for a March Brown imitation. Enjoy~
ARFLY 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 Thanks for the info. I hadn't thought of tying it that way. That way of tying with the dubbing in the plastic would make a killer ant as well
