Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2006 nightfish's post about a floor in his tying room inspired me to do this....plus since I quit smoking 11 days ago I found I have all this pent up energy now So I decided to take on a task thats been a long time coming, redoing the floor in my rod building/tying room. The floor in there was this old nasty green tile from the 1950's that not only looked like :poop: but half the tiles were broken and the cement from underneath was showing in many places. Heres what its looked like for the past few years And now I have all the old tile ripped out and the new floor down, as well as the bottom 30" of the walls painted in hunter green. Still have alot of trim work to do as well as other stuff, but its coming along slow but sure. I'll post some more pics when its done Steve

Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2006 Thanks guys. Jim- Its a vynil floor covering. Easy to maintain and not very costly. Al- wow 22 yrs :headbang: hopefully I'll be able to say that some day as well. I had tried to quite a number of time but recently I picked up the "patch" and so far its working great for me. Havent had more than a passing thought about a smoke, and my energy level had tripled. Not to mention the cough is starting to go away and I can actually go up&down the stairs now without being out of breath Steve
DeerhairTom 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2006 Oh crap, I knew I forgot something. Congradulations on quiting smoking. I quit in '89 after smoking 26 years, and never looked back. I chose the cold turkey method. I just never lit up again. I am not saying I didn't have cravings, I simply ignored them. Get an urge, get busy doing something. If the urge gets really strong, go hang out with another nonsmoker till the urge passes. Great looking room by the way. DeerhairTom

nightfish 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 Nice! I like the lodge feel you've got going. I think I've decided I'll be doing a hardwood look of some sort. I'm a year & 2 weeks without smokes now. I feel much better, but I need to work on a fitness program to get rid of the no-smokebreak-munchies layer I've put on. I'm sure working on a basement will help with that. That, and the new place is a bike ride from a nice reservoir, and I'm 5 driving minutes from 2 streams. Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 Well just about got this section done. Although after the holidays I have decided to built an interior wall in the basement which is gonna divide the basement in half so I will have double the room then :headbang: Here it is right now.
