Dave Whitlock's flies

Hi!

 

I just love Whitlocks bass and trout flies (and drawings.) The problem I am having is that, aside from an occasional fly magazine article, I can't find a source that will tell me how to tie (and fish) them. Any suggestions?

Do a search on this site for the Simple Shad. It's a tweaked version of Dave Whitlock's Sheep Shad. It uses a short-shank streamer hook instead of the lead-wrapped bendback 4xl hook.
