Hello everyone! I'm very glad to be a part of this website, I'll be taking full advantage of the priceless info here. I just started fly fishing at the very end of the season in 06. I've been doing a little winter fly fishing with no avail, it's just nice to get out there and practice nymphing. I'm also trying to make the transition from spinner to fly for steelies and salmon. I just need to come up with money to get the set up. I also want to start tying flies soon, so the virtual classes will be helpful. The farthest I've gotten in tying so far is making my own poly yarn strike indicators, which is actually pretty fun!

welcome chris. I started fly fishing seriously last year also. It was strange to put down the spinning gear, but i stuck to it all season and realy learned alot. not just about fly fishing tech. but also about my local waters. just changing presentation gave me a new prespective to veiw the fish from. Once i started tying up patterns, that was it; total addiction :) good luck with the winter fishing, and even more so when spring rolls around. There is limitless of info on this site and its full of great people.

tight lines
