Tying micro egg patterns

Recommended Posts

I wanted to see if anyone could tell me how I could start tying these. Also what materials I would need to do so and a brief description of how to tie them too.

Go to your local big box craft store and buy the smallest pompoms you can find.

Us a curve hook and stab the pompom onto the hook and secure with crazy glue.

The other way of dealing with this sized craft egg is to thread them onto that clear mono sewing thread, or light tippet material by threading a needle with it and pushing it through the egg. After you get a chain of them, then you can wrap them around the shank and tie it down like you would when tying anyway. :)

plain old dubbing wrapped around the shank in the form of a ball works great too. Try ice dubbing on your favorite small egg hook and add a gold bead at the front. I use 10/0 mono for thread.

Good luck!!

I tried the super glue thing. It didn't really work too good.

What I mean is that it made the eggs really smell like super glue and the crystal flash on them turned like a white color. Anyone else have any ideas about how I could secure the eggs with maybe some thread.

Also a brief description. Thanks

The method I posted will work depending on your hook size. If you don't have light mono then use 3/0 tying thread and tie it down at different points. :)
